Gave the 1311 a belt at some firewood splitting this arvo. As expected, it went swimmingly. Probably the toughest machete I've ever owned. SR101 never ceases to amaze in its perfomance. I have no reservations when it comes to flogging this steel as hard as I can. Anyway, enjoy the pics, I'm going to enjoy the fire...

I'm not sure what wood this is, eucalypt of some sort. It has the most amazing purple/magenta colour when you split it and it smells like strawberry jam. Burns well too :)

Murray came over to suss out the action...

Rob Great pics as usual !!! I'm still stashing away for my MOAB...It's your fault but in a GOOD WAY....

Great pics, Rob! The wood really smells like strawberry jam?!?!? That is awesome. . .

Hey Rob, is that wood good to bbq/smoke with?

Apple and Cherry wood work well over here, and give the meat a unique smoky flavor profile. Wood that smells like stawberry jam might make for pretty good smoked pork...

That wood is so pretty! I wonder if it would stay that magenta hue if you tried to use it for a dinner table or something.

I have never tried it. I must give it a go. Thanks for the idea!

If I hit my B10 with a rubber/plastic liek yours, will it be okay?

Absolutely... I've used an old baseball bat as a baton and it did cause some damage.

poor bat. :(

It will beg for more like a dog at the dinner table.

But only after laughing at you a bit...

Infi and SR101 are very tough stuff. I process Mesquite wood for cooking very often. It's around 50% harder than hickory. Very, very hard wood. I used to be upset about my knives laughing while I beat them. But nowdays I just laugh along with them.

Busse has the best warranty in the business. Beat them like a rented mule! It's covered!!! :D

Nice work. I should have taken pics of the two 7-inch thick Post Oaks I felled a few weeks back with my 1311.
