It is very, very rare for me to write any sort of review on a knife but my latest addition has compelled me to do so.

I was fortunate enough to be able to get a Black G-10 PE Dodo delivered to my house yesterday. I can honestly tell you that I have not been this excited about a knife since I got my first custom 10 years ago. Spyderco really out did themselves. Craftsmanship is top notch and I can't find one thing wrong with it. The knife is light and has such a handle design that makes it feel like and extension of your hand/fist. This knife is full of raw power. When I first handled one a few weeks back I was taken back by its size thinking that this thing hasn't got much to it. I was wrong. This knife feels good and looks good and even though it has a smallish blade the recurve of it more than makes up for it. The reversible wire clip is easy to switch and is more than secure in your pocket. There are only 2 things that I would change. A few notches on the blade behind the hole for traction and a less rough G-10. Other than that this knife is perfect. Do your self a favor and get one. Now! Go! What are you waiting for?!

Well ain't that a bitch! I posted in the wrong forum. Someone please move it to Knife Reviews and Testing for me.

Thanks.

I agree wholeheartedly. The knife is so inovative and well thought out. At first glance I thought, this thing is weird, but with about 5 minutes in the hand, I was hooked. I actually have gotten a few "what the hell is that thing for?" remarks. One person said that it looked like it was for "gutting a person", But this thing is super utilitarian. Love it and will always have one. Now give me one in CF:) Peace, josh

No need to moveit. There is nothing wrong with leaving it here, just copy your initial post in this thread to the reviews and testing forum.

Besides all that, Collucci's already figured out a few ways to damage humans with it. :D That's why he needed the BLACK G-10 ...

Ken,
I got a black dodo last week and am impressed with it also. I thought the ergonomics were outstanding and the grip secure. Even though the blade is small, damn it is sharp!
I'm just wondering to myself how i'm going to sharpen once is dulls...... Any thoughts on this? I have a sharpmaker but i am unsure how it will sharpen a bladeshape like this. Your opinion would be most helpful! :) Thanks.

Tom

I don't have any worries about using my Sharpmaker on it. Slow and steady is the way to go. I have been able to successfully sharpen a Civilian on it as well as a Cricket with wicked sharp results.

I used the fine stones at 40 degrees.

Just the corners.

I keep on hearing only good things about the Dodo. Looks like I have to give it a second and perhaps a third look.

When I first laid my eyes on it, I told myself: "This is certainly one of the oddest-looking knife." But then, I know Spyderco. They don't come up with anything unless it has been thoroughly researched and tested.

Good report, Ken. :)

Thanks for the review. I ordered my black Dodo already, can't for it to arrive.
