Just picked a brand new Temperance up at almost half off.
Wondering if anyone here has any experience with one camping, kitchen or just plain general use?
Any thought on this knife?
Ive looked at some you tube videos and in the spyderco forum here but was hoping to get more feedback.
Thanks
Danny

Assuming you're talking about the fixed blade, not the folder, I had one, but sold it. Had a custom knife that was similar in a lot of ways that I liked better(and also sold, eventually).
My thoughts: Fantastic geometry for slicing and food prep with it's wide, thin, full flat grind, but awkward for both working wood and splitting anything much larger than kindling for the same reasons(too wide for carving, too thin for splitting).

Did you get Gen 1 or 2. I plan on trying a T2 but it looks as if some care must be taken with the tip. There are several older threads that discuss the temperance if you do some digging.

It makes a fine kitchen knife, particularly in slicing meat. Would also make a fine personal protection knife if it ever came to that.

The T2.
I used it quite a bit the last few days around the grill and in the kitchen. It did great.
I don't really baton at all while camping. I use my pocket boy for that. I'll be taking it on a week long
camping trip in July and hope to put it to work around the camp.

I have had the temperance 2 for 3 or 4 years now and it is a great camping blade. Cleaned/filleted a lot of fish and chopped veggies with it. As mentioned it is a slicing machine.

Very comfortable and ergonomic handle.
