I was thinking of getting a SYKCO 375. The blade is ELMAX, which I am excited about, but it is only .090" thick. I would use the knife as a EDC, I don't own a BUSSE yet, do you guys think the blade thickness is something I would need to worry about?

I was also thinking of getting a RATMANDU. I've read a lot of great reviews about it.

Thanks.

The SYKCO elmax knives are great knives. They take and hold an edge well, but for an EDC I normally prefer something a little thicker, just in case.

The Ratmandu is a good choice. My personal EDC is an older SHMS.

As long as your EDC use does not include heavy duty prying, then 0.090" ought to be fine. Slicing and cutting is that much better with a thin blade.

Personally I believe the handle is the most comfortable of the entire Busse family. I have a 340 and like it very much. Sharpened it for the first time and it took a great edge

As long as you dont try to prior open a tank you should be fine. That is a great little knife and it will serve you well.

the5,

You have excellent choice in blades..
Just keep in mind that the Elmax offering is designed for slicing applications.
But, if you use your blades for more than slicing scenarios, and you have plans to pry with it or really test the limits of it as something more than a pure cutter, there are a host of other blades you might want to consider from the Busse/Swamprat line designed for whatever you want to throw at them; not all blades excel at the same things...that's why there are bunches to choose from :D.
Since some great advice/perspective has already been given from the pros in this thread, I'll shut up now, and concede to that :).

Good luck with your decision, and please let us know what you decide,

Seth

Thanks for all the info fellas, I found and bought a Busse Basic 4 LE magnum from Need2know on the for sale forum. I am excited, it is my first Busse. I'll post some photos when I get it.
