I felt that the large sharpening notch just screams for a choil. After about 15 minutes with a dremel and some files, my dream had come true! I darkened the steel to the color of the coating with Perma Blue.






Have you guys done any mods/have mods planned for the Mud Mutt?

Perfect for me. But I'm 13, so other hands might need a larger choil. I can always enlarge it in the future, of course.

Well, you could make a round choil, but the blade/handle joint might be weakend a fair bit. It was actually pretty easy to grind compared to some other hardened steel that I've worked with.
