wow did anyone else see the sykco skinner coming wednesday for 69$???? after you order the chophouse of course, great deal!

Really a sweet deal Dan put together. Getting the Doggy Bag special is a no brainer for me.

Garth

I personally don't need either knife so won't be ordering this time, but it's certainly a great deal. Exciting times to be a Bussekin aficionado. :)

IMHO, the thickness is overkill for a skinner. Thinner is almost always better in smaller blades. YMMV.

I could not agree more. I was super excited about the design until I saw the thickness...then it was "meh". Love the look of the chop house but a skinner that is 3/16th of an inch thick? Seems unwieldy.

The Skinner is 3/16"

Some times, I wonder if the Crew ever sits around and fantasies about killing every single whiner who whines about new designs?

I mean, they are surrounded by wicked blades all day, and bust their humps to make sweet steel, and then the complaints roll in...... too thick, too thin, I don't like tan resiprine-c.... my pants are wet with urine......my underwear is giving me a wedgie..

They ought to toss the lot of us down a well. "It puts the lotion in the basket!"

By the way, I hope they offer a color matched set.... and I think they should have made the new chopper 12 inches!!!!

Skinner sounds like a suggestion for it, but it doesn't look like a dedicated skinning knife to me. More a wicked little pocket bowie, which I definitely dig. Might have to see if I can scrape the funds together for that bad boy. Maybe it'll take over outdoor duties from my Master Hunter.

The dogs have been asking for different handle colors and finishes for a looooooong time. Dans bringing it,Celebrate!

one Chop house Lean cut (sage and tan) and one skinner (sage and black) for me!

Not a big fan of the look of the skinner or the thickness but since the Doggie Bag special was up I'm in for one anyways.

If ordered today, any guesses how many weeks before they "Ding" the account ?

True. But it's so cheap you could get someone like Ban to grind it down to a little monster.

Personally the Infidu and the Basic 8 really ruined me for new knives, but I'm sure the next great thing is just a week or two away these days.

I love it :)
The shape an all.

Thank You Scrapyard for bringing them out for us.

3/16 will skin just fine in my actual experience.
Granted that is only on Hogs, Beef and rabbits I would butcher or kill on the farm way back when.
I do not know how it would work on deer or elk as I have not actually dressed one out and would hate to speculate on how it would work on those with out having done it.
But I would guess it would be quite similar ?

Maybe Garth or Josh can use one on the Game they processes this season and give a report ?

To follow along with Dave's thoughts^^^ I like the 3/16" for skinning Elk...the hide is like cutting through metal screen door material especially after a bull has wallowed and got sand, gravel, rock matted into that hide. The 3/16" is better for breaking down heavy joints on animals the size of Elk or Moose much larger bone than deer.
