Does anyone know of a way to solder (for lack of a better word) a T-6 aluminum guard to a stainless blade? Sure would appreciate the help as I think this stuff sure polishes out nice.

Thanks, Bob

You may want to press fit it. I dont know a way to solder or weld it. There may be a way but Im sure the process would be very special
If you are using aluminum I would switch to 2024 . Its tougher

Thanks Darrel I'll give it a try (T-6 is pretty soft stuff). I,m sure this seemed like a dumb question but you never know what tecniques someone has developed unless you ask.

PS. I had thought about a press fit while using heat on one piece and dry ice on the other to make it an even tighter fit. Sounds like a lot of trouble but it may be interesting.

There's some stuff called TIX solder that's made for aluminum and it's supposed to work for soldering aluminum to other metals, too. I've never used it myself.
