I have a chance to pick up a T.A. Davison marked fixed blade in a very nice custom leather sheath. The seller wants $450. I know of Todd's slip joint knives, but have never seen a fixed blade. I'm curious for information from those in the know. A) Did Todd make fixed blades, B) What would the value of one of these be?

Update: I picked it up today for $400.

I think it is a beautiful blade and one that is more elegant than the tacticool fixed blades for carry.

Big fan of Todd’s work but have never seen a fixed blade. I’m also curious if anyone else can answer this!

Btw Todd is a nice guy and has been quite responsive to the couple of authenticity questions I’ve sent him about some of his older knives, so you might just consider shooting him an email directly.

Posted it to his facebook page and he replied, "Wow, Thats old". Hoping he follows up with more info.

Todd has made fixed blades. He doesn’t make too many any more, if at all, but def made some.

Todd told me it is about 15 years old. Made when he was in Lyons Kansas. D2 steel, and the sheath was made by Reichert Leather in McPherson, KS. He told me he sold it for $600 15 years ago and there aren't too many around.

I'm in Wichita, KS so I'm sure the knife sold locally. I've always had the philosophy guns and knives are tools to be used. But I have hesitation to use this one. What do you guys think?
