T.H.E. Wallet (not an ad, but it might seem like it as I like mine!)

Got mine a few days ago; initially disappointed in the size (a little big) but turns out to fit me well. Great passport, zippered access, etc. Replaced a nice, expensive (but totally worn out) Coach leather wallet. I am totally pleased now and can recommend it to anyone.

Wow that's cool! I've been looking for a wallet/belt pouch type thing for some time now. I went to:

http://www.specopsbrand.com/

and checked out the rest of the company's offerings. I'm thinking about that wallet, but then I may also get what they call the "Dry-Cell On-Board" BDU pocket organsizer since I'm sick of having so much loose crap in the cargo pockets of my M-65 jacket...

I loved mine, right up until the day I was covering something in municipal court, reached into my wallet to give my business card to a cop and my SpydrCard fell out onto the marble floor. Luckily no one was paying attention, but there was this partially opened knife lying on a courttoom floor.

I went back the next day to the card case type wallet I used to carry, then switched to one the same size that has a built in sleeve for a Fisher Bullet Space Pen.

I love Spec Ops Brand stuff. This just didn't suit my needs, I'm afraid.

Anybody want it cheap?

Jim Six,

As long as your "The Wallet" is still like-new, and is the black model, I'll trade you a used Cold Steel large fully serrated "old-style" tanto Voyager folder for it. I also have some pretty good handgun books left to trade, if those interest you...

Email me if interested...:).

How does the "Shark Bite" Closure work? I see it says "quite" so Im guessing its not Velcro.

Dan,

I'm sorry. I was only kidding about getting rid of it cheap. It will still serve some purpose for me along the line, I'm sure.

In fact, I'm planning to order Spec Ops Brand checkbook cover next.

Didn't mean to be a tease.

Jim,

No problem. That was more-or-less an impulse question, anyway...Ya know...The thrill of waiting for something new in the mail...LOL!!.

Besides, I kind of like my aligator leather tri-fold, anyhow, and I don't think I'd change.:).

It is a flap that snaps under a sewn under bit of nylon with some reinforcements... pretty hard to do in words, but it doesn't seem to flop open and comes open easily enough...zoom in on the pics and it will be a bit clearer...

fracmeister,
Thanks. I'm in the market for a new wallet. I traced the measurements for this one on a piece of cardboard. It might be a little big for me.

It is big and I was worried it wouldn't fit in my pants pocket. Some won't button over it either. And it certainly won't "impress" the executives, but I am getting plenty used to it and would get another.

Go for it. I picked one up a little while ago from Shomer-Tec. It's a great size -- carries a lot, but not so much that you tilt over to the side. Very good design and construction. I switch it from coat to parka to field jacket to backpack, and I always have those neat little items handy, without having to gather them up separately every day.

I think I'm going to get either another On-Board or go for the Pack-Rat, which looks like a larger version with more dividers, for my backpack. I would like to put together a small toolkit that I could grab, too.

The On-Board has a good grab-handle that's an extension of the belt loops, so you can thread it on a belt if you aren't wearing a jacket with pockets.

Did you guys see the "Tac-Tie" made by the same company? That looks perfect for a nerd like me:)

Josh:
Just remember to also purchase the optional "Neutral Bouyancy Stability System". It fits in the back of your collar and inflates like an airline neck pillow with a gas 50 times lighter than hydrogen to keep you from doing a face plant in front of family and friends when you wear the "Tac-Tie" fully loaded.
