Does HI still sell T-Shirts? I thought there used to be a sticky about them but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Auntie has been known to have a few H.I. logo t-shirts and hats from time to time....
Different styles at different times.
You have to Email her and ask if she has any and what they look like.

Karda,

This is just a thought. Several clubs that I belong to use a company called Cafe Press. http://www.cafepress.com/ All you do is open an account with them, submit your logo and then you have a store front. They take orders directly from individuals, no company participation is needed, but, the company gets the profits. All you really do is put a link to the store front on your website and that directs people to your store.

The best part of it is that the club (or company) doesn't have to keep any stock on hand or lay out any money or deal with orders or shipping.

Another huge benifit is that you have so many options to choose from; short sleeve, long sleeve, fleece, sweat shirts, mugs, polos, jackets, hats, etc.

It would make it easy for everyone to get HI stuff and also make the company some money. The quality is very good and I think you can even choose higher or lower quality if you want.

Yangdu would have to mark up the t-shirts too high in price if she used cafepress.com

Run with the Cafepress idea a lot of us under stand the advantage of no overhead and would be willing to pay a premium. That or we can try and lump up a group buy and prepay for X number of shirts.
For what I am paying for a Kimber or Kershaw polo I'd gladly have an HI one.
I'm going to have a T-shirt made up "I make Tree's Pee":D

Our falconry clubs are made up of everything from 16 year old kids to elderly people on fixed incomes and never once have we had a single complaint that the shirts were too expensive. This shouldn't even be a consideration to a group of people that pay $100-$175 for a knife. I would be willing to bet if they opened a Cafe Press (or similar store) tomorrow, they would have 50 sales as quick as when one of the new "old style" Bonecutters and Ganga Rams show up on a DOTD!

HI can add any amount they want to the products. For instance they can put a default amount of $1 over cost for everything and make money for doing nothing. Or they could put as much on each item as they think the market will bear. They can also add nothing as some of our clubs do. It promotes our club to the outside world (advertising) and promotes unity within the group (loyal repeat customers). People love their club hats and shirts and virtually every person has more than a few and they wear them everywhere! So the dollar here and there that you could make isn't as important as the return.

By the way, I'm not say that Cafe Press is the only company out there or that they are the best. I just know from experience that they have a good product, fair price, fast shipping, great customer care and they take care of everything from A-Z. I also know that I have about 15-20 club T-shirts, sweat shirts, polos and hats lying around, along with a Kukri House t-shirt but I don't have a single product with an HI logo on it, and not by choice. Sounds like a business opportunity to me!

Auntie usually has had these done as a fair trade item and has them made in Nepal.
Some of the older ones had very nice embroidery.

Lots of good ideas here. I have several of the finely hand embroidered shirts I got through HI. I value them highly for their craftsmanship, support to the Nepalese economy, and the HI logos and connection.
