Here's 2 I just knocked out yesterday for a customer. I am not particular fond of that shape myself, but I've had lots of positive comments - it must work ... They're headed out the door faster than I can make them. Again, its a bang-up piece, so intentionally basic finish, no fancy stuff. Note the difference in the canvas Micarta between the 2 - it was the same batch, same suplier - has anyone else had similar experiences with Micarta ? Thanks for the look. Jason. I need some sleep.

Once again, excellent. I'm not a huge fan of recurves either, but you did a nice job on that one, and it looks like a great utility blade.

Nice! Did the customer just discuss what he wanted, or did he provide drawings and stuff?

The guy runs a martial arts school and wanted to design something custom yet "affordable." We sat and punched out a few designs before going for this one. Its a modification of another one I did for some troopers a few months ago, but he was specifically after that recurved design. But since the proto was made, I've has so many requests I can't catch up with demand. I need to quit my dayjob maybe. ;) Jason.

I don't know, Jason--as much as I'd love to have you as a full time maker, I think the world needs doctors more than it needs knifemakers. As long as you still have time to make stuff for me anyway...:p :D

As far as recurves go (I'm not as partial to recurves as I used to be), I think this is a nice looking design (as if I'd ever have anything bad to say about your stuff).

I think that is the best knife I have seen you make, put a hand rubbed satin finish on that and it would be a killer.I love recurve blade myself.;)

The steel is just 3.5mm thick (just over 1/8inch, just under 5/32inch) - relatively slim for a tactical but the blade is just 6inches. It makes for some nice handling dynamics than with thicker stock. I wouldn't be using this one for prying jobs, thats why the butt is bevelled as a screwdriver and for opening Milo tins / paint cans. The original prototype was done with my bestest satin hand rub I could muster, but I can tell you that hand rubbing a curved blade is not the easiest ! Even with a blunted edge while finishing, there's increased risk of taking off bits of fingers because of the recurve. I guess thats what recurves do well. Thanks for all the nice comments. Much appreciated. Jason.
