I did this hike a couple of days ago, this was my second time hiking up Taal Volcano in the Philippines. The weather was perfect and by perfect I mean no grey clouds, rain, or excessive heat. The return hike was in the dark, but that is better than being in the direct heat of the day. This trip was done in conjunction with a trip to Batangas, the birthplace of the Balisong (butterfly knife).

Travel by boat is the only way to get to the island where Taal is.
Hiking up
Most everyone takes a horse up. Only the fools walk up!
The smell of sulfur and the heat from the steam is a sure sign that the top is near.
