Actually, I have two. One is a first production run and is sitting in a closet, and the other is in my pocket as we speak (well, type).
The ATS34 blade is excellent, and a good length for most work. I can't speak to it's tactical uses, as I'm not interested, but it makes a convenient, light, and strongwork knife. The last major chore I did with it (yesterday) was dismembering a tube of old caulk which had solified around the caulking gun I needed to use
I find the slightly upswept blade convenient, though I can't really quantify how; it just seems easy to use. place where your thumb rests on the back of the blade (it's early, and I haven't finished my coffee, the words aren'tcoming to me yet.) I scomfortable, and allows you to get some nice leverage when you need it.
The release mechanism is clever, and very convenient once you get used to it. I was worried as a lefty that it wouldn't work well for me, but it can be operated with either hand. The clip is not reversible, and would cover the release if it were.
The only problem I've had, and heard about from others, is some slight lateral blade play. Buck just returned mine with this problem solved. It's a little stiff now, but will probably work itself out.
Try one. I don't think you will be disappointed.
