what kind of tactical folding knife would you recommend. im looking for something at least decent looking with at least T-6 aluminum handles and 440 blade. no rubber inserts(plastic-ish material ok) also non auto and made in the US. i dont like linerlocks. im not interested in a buck 110 or 112. thanks. if you also have a favorite manual knife you think that i might like, your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

My experience mirrors cliff355's very closely. I have more than a drawer full of tactical knives, including some pretty nice ones. But recently I began to rediscover slipjoints. I've found they meets my cutting needs very well. I also agree about the performance of D2.

If you're dead set against a traditional slipjoint, then you should re-post your question in the general blade discussion forum.

Moved from traditional forum.

I don't think CAlife is interested in tactical peanuts and whittlers. ;)

That leavs it pretty wide open.

How much do you want to spend?

I am thnking that you could just go through the entire lineup of either Spyderco or Benchmade and pick one you like. You will more than likely not be disappointed.

I've been through a dozen or so in the last 6 or 7 years and I've found none to match the Benchmade/Ritter RSK-1 available from aeromedix.com good all around practical knife. Takes and holds a wonderful edge. Not exactly the prettiest until you see how well it works. Oh yeah..and the Axis lock is king schizzle IMO.

Here are two I use.

or the fancy version of the TR-3

and a good manual

I hope this helps.

Maybe a Benchmade Red Class folder, like the Monochrome (frame lock, steel handle) or the Pika (lock back, textured Zytel handle).
Aluminum handles are fairly rare in high-quality knives. There's a version of the CRKT M16 with aluminum scales, but it has a liner lock.

thanks for all the help guys im looking for a BM 942. i really like the design and the materials used. does anyone have one? if you do, an email with a price you'd be considering in LNIB condition or better would be great. thanks

You're new here, so I won't chew you out for posting this here (someone else might, but I won't.:D.), but since you are looking to buy a knife, this is the place to post:
