I wanted to throw up a quick review on the Tactical Concealment R.O.I.D. Cobra Hood I got and the garnishing job Liberty Tree Tactical did on it. I noticed a Youtube search didn't yield many hits so I did a video review since I feel it gives a better overview. Excuse the quality of the review as I don't do video reviews and was using my iPhone.

Tactical Concealment makes a wicked good product and I could not be happier with the design and robust nature of the material they use. You can tell that the hood was designed by people who know what is needed and what is not. As for Liberty Tree, I could not believe that I couldn't find more results on them. I saw some of their ghillies and garnishing in a show your ghillie thread and couldn't believe they weren't more popular. He is an artist with the garnishment. It's coverage is fantastic while not weighing the suit down and allows easy open access for adding natural veg tie offs.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer.

If I may ask, since you don't state it, exactly what "tactical" use do you intend this for?

I don't have a tactical use for it at all. I'm not having any Swagger fantasies. Tactical Concealment is the company that produces the cobra hood and Liberty Tree Tactical is the company that did the garnishment for me. I couldn't help but say tactical a few times when stating their names. This is a predator hunting get up for me as I stated in the clip. I am low speed high drag hahaha.

That makes sense. Except that animals cue on movement and scent, not shapes. And the more you pile onto you clothes, the more you accentuate the slightest movement.

I completely agree with your statement that animals see movement very acutely, they also have great pattern recognition. My belief is that this will assist me in blending into the environment, thus removing the pattern recognition or color flares (turkey are infamous for picking up color variations that don't match their backyard). I can sit pretty darn still so I should be good with that, this really is a slight system so I'm not sure if the vid picks that up adequately. I will do my best to get someone to film me wearing it on a hunt so I can share what it looks like in the field.

A flip side to the movement and materials used is that they will move with the breeze. I don't know about you but when I'm hunting and the wind is blowing, something that is solid and does not react with the surrounding foliage, such as a rock, really sticks out to me. I think this will assist in blending. It's all in theory for me. Others have used it, and in experience, have found it very effective.

Wish me luck.
