I am very intrigued by the Tactical Elite knives. They look like Sebenza's and come in s30v or some type of 440 steel. Does anyone have one? Are they comparable to a Sebenza? I've been to the web site and their prices would make you believe they should be as good or better than a Sebbie. Any thoughts? I did a forum search but didn't find anyone doing a comparison with Chris Reeve's knives.

When you compare any folder to a Chris Reeve, you are going against a very high standard. Obviously, since everyone compares knives to a CRK.

The Combat Elite folders are very comparable to the Sebenza. Especially for the price. Are they the equal to a Sebenza? I am a close friend to one of the owners of Combat Elite (Darrel Ralph) and at the risk of hurting his feelings, they are not quite on par with the Sebenza for fit and finish. However, they weren't really meant to be quite that nice. They were meant to be rugged users that will get beat up. So, the extra fit and finish was not a requirment when they designed this knife.

I don't think you would go wong with a Tactical Elite.

What Dirk said. Don't let the 440C-OS steel fool you either, as it is a very good steel that has some added ingrediants to bring it up to par for what the knife was intended to do. When 440C is heat treated correctly it is as good a steel as most people will ever need.

I own a level 2 and like it very much. I think the fit and finish are excellent, although I have never handled a Sebbie so I can't compare the two. The blade is centered and lock up is very tight. This knife is very light and you hardly notice it is there. The blade design is very usefull in that it is a true utillity blade. The blade thickness looks to be 1/8", flat ground and scary sharp. I have the 440c-os blade and I can tell no difference in edge taking and holding abillity between this blade and my Manix which is s30v. I really love this knife it is sharp light and very sturdy. Combat Elite's customer service is awesome too. I needed PB washers because the nylon washer that came with my knife were worn out (older model) I had e-mails from both Ryan Wilson and Darrell Ralph with in minutes from sending one. I had my washers in three days and installed them also asked if this voided my warranty they said no way We stand behind our product 100%. I love this! You will not go wrong in buying one. :D :D
