For really quite a long time (over two years, I think) I've been carrying a Cold Steel Kobun in my right front pocket when I go on my nightly walks. The sheath is pretty much perfect for the setup. Now I just need a good knife for my left hand. Currently, I've been using a Smith and Wesson HRT Boot Knife (with a false double edge), but the knife is so small and the sheath so cheaply made that I've been leaving it at home.

So, I humbly request some suggestions. Sub-$100 left-handed fixed blade with a clip-sheath (or just something that doesn't require me taking off my belt to attach) that isn't double-edged and is relatively quick to access. Very specific, I know, but the good news is that I don't care much about the blade steel. This is very much a pointy-end-goes-in-the-bad-guy knife, so I basically plan to never have to use the knife.

Thank you in advance :)

I like to carry a Fixed Karambit on my weak side if I need to. easy to lock down in your hand and will get the job done. Less chance of loosing control of it and it finding it way in to your attacker's hands. I also like the Brous Blades SS. Small light easy to set up for left-hand carry with the clip it comes with and with the finger holes it locks down in your hand for added safety. Just remember that a knife is your last ditch tool for self defense you do not want to get in a knife fight. A wise man once told me "Never bring a knife to a knife fight".

Would this work? Chisel ground file knife.

Most fixed blades I've come across have been ambidextrous... I think it's a good sheath you're after.

Charlie Mike presents a good blade. I'd use that, it's small enough to wear comfortably (if done correctly) and ugly enough to be intimidating... Sorry I don't mean to offend, it's just not one of the pretty shiny ornate pieces that can also be found here.

My other recommendation would be to lurk about the for sale section and take you might find one you like.

If you're bent on a little guy like the SS you may also want to track down a hideaway knife.
