so yet again I am moving my collection in another direction. I want to pick up some fixed blades

Currently I like the bowies, Rambo tactical style knives. 9” and larger

Medford BOA
Marfione Interceptor
Are 2 I am trying to acquire at this time

Can anyone offer some custom maker suggestions where to look and others I may like?

Thanks in advance!

If I were to pony up for a Bowie it would be Nick Wheeler and CAS

Excellent choices. But quite possibly the opposite of "Rambo style tactical". Which is arguably a good thing, but maybe not what the OP is seeking.

I wonder what Nick's delivery time is like these days?

My recommendation for a knife that stands between the owner and whatever mayhem might present - enemy combatants / zombies/ what have you - would be anything from Sam Lurquin.

Also outside the Rambo theme, but man, you should see his take on a Kabar .

Allen Elishewitz made a run of Rambo-style knives, the top knife in collaboration with Shane Siebert....Vaughn Neely still makes a like knife.

Here’s a piece made by Brother Sam Lurquin....

I have to say, this is my first post outside of classifieds, looking for or selling and I’m really happy it started this well

Thank you for taking the time to put in your suggestions. Going to research these and I will be back to see more

I'm currently on a Bowie quest myself! :)

Not sure if it's what you're lookin for, but Japanese maker Kiku has a lot of wild, heavy hittin flavors!

I recently ordered three knives form Dave Ferry one of which is a bowie , check him out his work is wonderful and his price are "working man" friendly

If ya like strange :)

But seriously if you give us a price range many will give you great suggestions

There is something out there for everyone

I’d like pieces in all ranges. Like the ones I listed are
Marfione is $1500-2000
Todd Bregg $900-1100
Medford $400
Microtechs $250

So I’m open to see about everything. I’d prefer more options in the sweet spot of $2-400

Talk to BF member Charlie Mike. He’ll hook you up. Not sure if he does the sawback thing though.

@Charlie Mike what are you waiting for? Hook my boy up!

I think it would really help OP if mr roger would post the top five from each of the last five years :D

(I'll admit, that's for me, I'm having trouble finding the older years winners and finalists)

Really? When I put "Best Bowie" into the search field and tick the "search titles only" box the first 3 pages of results include all the threads dating back to the original in 2007.

It's a real trip running through those threads, too - particularly the nomination threads where you get to see them ALL.
