Hello all,

Most of the tactical folders I have looked at come with a clip. Are there any that come with a sheath?

I think the REKAT Pioneer II used to come with a sheath, but not anymore.

Thanks in advance.

Gerber's Applegate/Fairbairn Combat folder comes with a nylon belt sheath. It has no pocket clip. A serious drawback, IMO.

The Microtech LCC comes with a sheath, or at least it used to. Sheaths provided with folders are getting rare.

My Microtech L.C.C. came with a nylon sheath as well as a pocket clip. Benchmade's AFO model comes with a sheath too. Some manufacturers simply offer sheaths as an option for their folders like Emerson Knives does. There are people who like sheaths for their folders, which is okay for a general utility knife, but if you need fast access to your folder, the sheath will only slow you down unless it's designed to allow rapid deployment.

All MOD folders come with sheaths for either horizontal or vertical carry. It's nice to have the option of using the clip or going to the sheath. Some custom folders also--Pat Crawford and Alan Elishewitz.

I suggest you come at it another way. Just pick whatever knife you really like regardless of sheath. Any existing clip can be easily removed. Then go to robertsoncustomcutlery.com and order one of their LDC ballistic nylon sheaths. They are far and away the best "user" sheaths going. I have several in different sizes. They can be worn in vertical or horizontal mode. In horizontal mode they can be removed without taking off one's belt. The quality is a notch higher than any other nylon sheaths going. One feature I particularly like is that the hook and loop material runs the length of the flap and the length of the sheath body.It really locks the knife down, and also allows for a great degree of versitility in tightly fitting knives of various sizes. You can find 'em cheaper, but none are better.
Like probably a lot of other folks here, I have a whole drawer full of sheaths of different sizes and makes. My customs always go in LDC's.

Most tactical folders with the clip can fit into a sheath. Actually, many clips can be removed if you feel it gets in your way. For me, I use the clip for stability while rapidly opening the knife.

Many knife manufacturers will sell sheaths as accessories for these types of knives. There are also gun or sporting good stores that should provide an appropriate sheath.

....Or, you can always have one custom made.

Knifenerd, actually the Ladyhawk does not come with a sheath. It is the only MOD not to have one I beleive.

I have a folder coming that comes standard with a quick draw kydex sheath. It isn't really a tactical folder as much as a fighting folders, the Pocket Hobbit. It is easy to have a sheath made for your knives from Kydex. If you want to go a bit higher end you can get a leather one made or you can go on the cheap and get a nylon coccoon type sheath.
