Tactical Hawk metal and design questions...

If there are makers who could comment on these questions, I'd be very grateful -

1) do holes in the heads of tactical hawks weaken the structural integrity of the weapon? intuition would argue "certainly", but I would like to clarify the point...

2) all other things things being equal, what are the advatages of choosing either 1095 steel or chrome molly 4140 steel for the hawk...?

As to how much holes will weaken the head, I guess it depends on how big they are and where they are placed, eg how close to the edge, etc.

Out of the two steels 4140 is preferable, as it is tougher.
