Sorry I'm getting into this a little late. Anyhow, I recently ordered and received a World War model from Craig (Gurkha House). Soon there after I sort of personalized the knife to my own likings. After talking with Craig he thought it a good idea to share the modifications with all of you.
First I applied several cold blue appications to the blade and blackened all of the brass. Next I wrapped the handle with grip-wrap (the stuff used on tennis racquet handles), and then para cord.
It certainly doesn't look like the same knife, but it is now far more practical (at least for my purposes).
If any of you need instruction and/or more detail please let me know.
In reference to a previous thread about caring for the blade. I would recommend a light coat of petroleum jelly.
