Today, I was stunned again by Ti Survival's work on a TI Bolt pen. What great work! So stunned I was that, although I won't be getting a titanium tactical pen like that, I did break down and order a CRKT Tao tactical pen in aluminum. Finally, I will have a pen to pair up with my EDC ZT 0350OR. Looking forward to this as I am also a collector of pens and such as well. Post up your tactical knife and pen as you have them paired up!

I'm sorry but I just can't take the words "tactical pen" seriously, it sounds like something that an arms maker thought up as an April fools joke.

Beat me to it.

I understand that "tactical" is here to stay. But let's contain the madness to things like knives, pants, and flashlights.

Tactical use or not they are well made pens. Of course, Jason Bourne, I'm not, but that was a cool fight scene.

Yup, and that was as far from a tactical pen as you can get, a 10 cent Bic.

ETA: I don't foresee myself ever buying a "tactical" pen, but some of them are really well machined, beautiful looking pieces, my favorites being of the bronze and brass variety.

They are well made, and many are quite nice looking. I would buy one and use it for writing, and only writing. I have watched some of the training films on using them for SD but it is just plain silly. The word "tactical" is probably the most overused and misused in the American lexicon. Playmate should start selling a "Tactical Provision Carrier"...that is to say a cooler that's painted flat dark earth and has rubber inserts on the handle.

Just about anything can be used as a weapon in an emergency. Madness is defined as spine whacking in my book.

I just think the word "tactical pen" just means an overbuilt pen. I don't carry my tac-pen and expect to get all Kung-Fu with it. I just appreciate a pen that accepts space pen ink, and won't break when I'm busting down boxes or fighting ninjas.

I'm actually looking at a few Matthew Martin pens, not sure which one I want.

Never understood this whole tacti-cool craze, seems like most of the times they just make things heavier and less useful. Though on the pens a few of them looked like the would make nice writing instruments, but the whole tacti-cool self defense part I laugh at.

Though for writing instruments you should check out the kuru toga for mechanical pencils. It rotates the lead so you always have a nice sharp point when writing instead of it looking like a chisel. I find it makes your writing look a lot clearer, great pencil in my opinion. In fact it's my favorite. To top it off you can pick up the starter set which has the plastic one for $5. The nicer metal ones will set you back $10.

^^^the kuru toga is the best pencil I've ever written with, it made writing equations much easier.

But for work, most pens can't take the abuse of busting down boxes and still function properly...that's when things get "tactical":D

Really my Bic pen has broken more boxes and ninjas than I care to count and can still write with the best of them. You just have to make sure you don't torque it to the side or put any lateral movement in it or else you shorten it's lifespan during the more "tactical" situations. Dang ninja's will never learn the pen is mightier than the sword.

Hmm maybe this help according to google translate it be "ペンは剣よりも強し。".

Maybe the ultimate tactical knife with a 5 inch long, 1/2" thick chisel blade and ball bearing flipper mechanism and CNC anodized TI frame lock will impress.:thumbup:

Nope needs more cowbell. I take a 5in long, 1/2in thick, hollow ground blade, speed safe, nuked TI, frame lock, s110v, and 550 paracord lanyard with a small cowbell attached to the end instead of a bead.

Ok now this is sad I am now thinking a cowbell bead would be pretty dang cool.

I own and regularly use a Smith and Wesson pen. "Tactical" it is not but it writes, goes on a plane and is effective when used to strike, tried and tested!
