Just wanted to put in a good word for some of the makers I met at the show yesterday. I ended up choosing a Dozier New Personal, but I was deciding between that, and some of Bud Nealy's designs, as well as Crawford's folders, and of course Al Polkowski. THis is the first knife show I've attended, and the atmosphere and the people were amazing. Polkowski is a humble guy, as are they all, but most of his knives were already sold out by the time I arrived! Nealy was very informative, and the most willing to go in-depth with my probing questions... and his concealment system was the most versatile... however, the knife I was looking at (Appalachian I think) only had the MASS system, and I was hoping to buy one of the MCS carry systems... Crawford, especially his son (friendliest guy at the show)were by far the most enthusiastic and proud of their products, which transmits a great feeling of excitement to the knifeknut. And Dozier, I decided, was simply the best bang for the buck... when you feel his blades you feel like you're holding something of great quality, similar to many of the more highly priced pieces at the show. I'll see if I can borrow a digicam and post a pic of the new personal... same size as the straight personal, but with a different (and I find, more attractive) grind.
