Anyone having a hard time finding the latest issue of Tactical Knives magazine at the book store?
I looked for it at Barnes and Noble the last couple of times I've been there with no luck. I asked them today if they had dropped it and they said they didn't know but that the last issue they had gotten was something like Septembers'.

So I went to Hastings and they didn't have it either. I hesitate subscribing to it because I've heard people on forums say they wind up missing alot of issues because they don't get delivered for some reason.

thanks,
john

Email Harris Publications directly. I'm pretty sure you can get a copy that way.

I have a subscription and it is hit and miss. The last two times I have bought off the newstand only to have a copy show up a few weeks latter, usually with the front cover torn. I like the magazine, but I will not renew my subscription once it's up.

I picked up the Jan 2009 issue at a local Meijer store (24 hr grocery/Walmart type store) a week or two ago. I assume that is the latest issue? Don't always see it on the shelves there, but I don't always get there on a regular basis either.

I've always gotten mine. *shrug* Once it was running a bit late and I figured it was lossed, I emailed the company and they sent me a copy. My subscription arrived two days later.

TK comes out only once every two months--if you don't realize that, it might make you think you're missing issues. I'm having a tough time getting Blade. The two B&N's close to me dropped it, and I guess I should subscribe. I can always find TK, however. Even the local grocery store carries it. I believe the next issue should be out around the last week of December if you can't find the current issue.

I've had no problems getting mine. Only once I questioned here on the forums about an issue I thought didn't arrive. It was read by Steven Dick and he PM's me asking for my address. He dropped a copy in the mail for me. No complaints here.....

The price for an issue went up to 7.00 dollars at a store, last time I checked! That's getting up there for that sort of magazine, IMO.

I think a lot of companies in general have seen their operating cost increased. This in turn has to be passed on to the consumer. I've also noticed that magazines are thinner and the print is getting smaller to keep cost down. The problem lies in what is the cut off point the consumer says they won't pay the increased prices. The last issue of Rolling Stone is almost half the size that it used to be. I do enjoy TK and hope that it continues to be published.

For me it's the best knife magazine out there. I'm not much in to art knives and they usuallu cover some knives that are within my reach price wise. It has always been a magazine that I can usually only find at the book store and 1 grocery store I can think of but it's out of my way so I haven't checked there yet.

I'll keep my eye open and if it shows up at Barnes and Noble or Hastings I'll grab it.

I've always only been able to find my issue of Tactical Knives at Barnes & Noble with any reliability. They had last month's issue (although that might not be the right term, I believe it's bi-monthly?). It would probably be easiest to e-mail its publisher directly and just acquire a subscription.
