I have some time been looking at this knife, Fox/Wilson combat with cocobolo scales. The reason is that I just like the look and feel of natural materials. Well, let's just say I have a "gentleman's knife" fetish even with this kind of tools.

Does anyone know more of this knife? Also are there any other knives that combine natural materials and tactical styling? Only one I know is Al Mar Eagle Classic but that one is out of my price range.

That's a pretty nice knife, what's your price range? Check out mcusta, they have some nice designs with natural materials.

I've only recently seen the Mcusta knives in person and I was impressed. You should be able to find a nice configuration at that price, the Tactility with cocobolo and damascus blade is priced at $160.

Where are you located? Most mcusta are well under 200usd here in the states, I'll see if I can think of any other brands that may interest you and check back in when I get home.

Or Viper Keeper. It has been critized of it's thin liner lock. I don't know it it's really an issue.

IME, modern one handed openers from companies outside of the U.S. tend to have more natural materials for handles. OHO's from the States are bound to have G10, CF, Ti, etc.. I'd keep blazing the trail into Fox/Viper knives maybe even checking out some of Boker's offerings.

I do have a knife that would be almost perfect. The size is there and it has stag scales. The backlock works very well. Considering the size the knife is very light. Steel is D2 and the f & f is very good.

But it does not have thumb studs.

I settled on the Fox/Wilson combat knife. Reasons: price and a favourable review by Nutnfancy of the G10-version. Also I started to think that several of my favourite knives (like Spyderco Gayle Bradley) fall in to the same size category. I am eager to see what I will get and will post a mini-review in this thread.

I must say this is a fine knife. The cocobolo wood looks first a bit plain, but in daylight you notice that the wood has real depth and character. I would need a better camera to capture it.

Fit and finish is fine, actually one of the best I have encountered. The action is THE best I have experienced personally. I can't believe I am saying this, but the action puts my Paramilitary 2 and Gayle Bradley to shame. It feels like an assisted folder. You push the thumbstud up and forward, there is a slight resistance and SNAP the blade flies open. Marvellous.

This is a nice edc size knife. The edge was flawless and very very sharp. Also the knife came in a nice padded zipper pouch that actually has belt loops, so you can carry this that way too. The simple clip is good and does not create a hot spot.

Lock up is early and very solid. At this price and guality this is a steal. Get one if you like the styling.

Awesome, those are some good looking scales. Posting here is dangerous, were terrible enablers and I know my wallet has suffered.
