I was looking into getting a new flashlight to carry around in my pocket since I just moved to night shift n im up at late hours hunt at night etc. what are some good options to get that you have experience with. Ideally I would want it to be led around 100$ pretty small size with a clip and the on/off on the end of the flashlight.

A good starting place would be the Quark brand or Fenix brand lights, which feed on 1xCR123 or 2xCR123, or 1xAA or 2xAA. The CR123 flavors are somewhat brighter, and any of them can feed on the appropriate rechargeable batteries which is nice. They all come with tail clickies and clips. Link. There are plenty of other brands out there too that meet your requirements. These are just a starting point.

I was looking at the Surefire Fury P2X, but decided that was a bit spendier than I wanted for now, and started with a Streamlight Protac 2L (uses two CR123A lith's, costs ~ $40 which leaves me cash to keep spare batteries around) - it's pretty nice. Seems well built, has a handy clip, and while not as bright as the P2X, it's high mode is still very bright (good for stunning in the dark). The low beam extends battery life massively, and it has a strobe option.

Pretty happy so far.

I like the specs and pricing on the Quark's listed above too... good suggestion.

Olight M20s-x warrior. It runs on two cr123's or one 18650. That light is bright and tuff as hell. I left mine on my jeeps bumper after working on the jeep and drove off. Next thing I know i'm making a turn and watching this black thing bounce down the road to the left of me. It was my flashlight I forgot about. I picked it up and to my suprise worked just fine. That is the brightest most reliable flashlight I have ever owned. Olight has a video on youtube of them dropping it out a three story window and shooting it with a shotgun. I'll post some pics of mine and how dinged up it is when I get home from school. Oh and its only about 75 bones if you look in the right places.

I have a Fenix TK11 mounted on my AR that runs on a pair of CR123A batteries, or a single 18650. I also have a Surefire that runs on regular AAs. No clip on either one, but they're both nice tactical flashlights.

I just got an EagleTac D25LC2 that runs on 2 CR123 or 18650 which is a rechargeable. A charger is $25 and batteries are between $10 and $20 for good ones depending on capacity. The light was just under $60 so you should be able to get a light, charger, and 2 batteries for about your max price and not have to buy the expensive CR123, but you at least have the option of using them if you find yourself with a dead battery. Most grocery stores and Wal-Mart carry them as well as a lot of other places.

The actual light seems great so far and has a clip that can be oriented in either direction. There are two LEDs available one has more throw and one is more flood and higher lumens. The XM-G has more throw and just under 500 lumens on turbo with a 90 minute run time. Low is bright enough for most things with over 100 hour run time. It has a clicky switch but a twist of the head put it in turbo if you need it. And yes 500 lumens is pretty bright. The other LED option (don't remember the name) has over 700 lumens. I really like it so far.
