Tactical Maquahuitl

picked this one up from a guy in the states.

36 in. long, machined from one chunk of 6061 aluminum, black ceramicote & paracord wrapped grip. 'V' edged. not as sharp as obsidian, but a bit more sturdy. 3.6 lb.

Very cool! Wonder how the 6061 aluminum will hold up.

A tactical maquahuitl is on my list of projects I want to tackle some day. In steel, though.
 
I think an aluminum bodied steel edged one would be neat,that thing will still pack a wallop I'm sure.
 
I'm still surprised that Cold Steel hasn't come out with a steel-edged polypropylene one.
 
The Lienzo Codex shows some wicked damage being done by the originals, including a near-beheading of a horse.

These two are trying their hands at using the weapon (practice versions). Cricket bat duel? :)
