My orthopedic surgeon used one of these* to remove the staples from my ankle after he installed this hardware:

I neglected to find out if they were made of INFI.

What's with that one screw that doesn't seem to be attached to the plate like the rest?!:eek::eek::D
 
I've actually used those to take out skin staples. They work great!! :thumbup:
 
I still have 8 screws and 2 plates in my right hand....where are those xrays....
 
What a bunch of comedians. Assuming you are actually curious:

I had the same reaction when I first saw these. The wacky one is normal to the plane of the fracture itself. It is clear why it's where it is when viewed from the lateral aspect.

That is the screw that crosses the fracture site and compresses the pieces. The rest of the screws are holding the plate to the bone to help stabilize it.
 
well don't feel bad rick, at least they didn't leave one out like they did on me....

or mayby they didn't leave it out and it's slowly working it's way to my brain... like yours will do :eek: :eek: :eek:
