Finally got one out that wasn't spoken for already! This is an older blade (made a couple months ago) with a slightly thicker than normal edge (still shaving sharp) and an unusual hamon. 1095 steel, 4 1/16" OAL with a 1 7/8" blade (cutting edge). Scales are F-18 carbon fiber with stainless steel thong hole tube and a Micarta pin. Flat grind. Clay coated Japanese style heat treat (only shows up good in one of the pics, sorry! I was in a rush to get the pics up...). Hamon is unusual in that there is a "ghost" temper line that follows the hamon. Hard to describe but looks cool! Hamon is subtle on this one (I etched it using a different process) and I think it works very well with the carbon fiber. Enjoy!

Thanks, Flava. This one came out a little more Sheepsfooot-y and a little less Wharncliffe-ish than the way I've been doing later versions of it, but it's more true to the original. Next one will be a real Orange Peeler, back to the orange G-10 scales, for fun. Look for that in a few days!

Impressive execution, I just don't see how I'd be using it (I've never had the need to pare fruit in a high-risk environment). It looks beautiful and the ergonomics look like they would be very nice though. Hypothetically speaking, of course, what might something like that go for?

laceration, the name "Tactical Orange Peeler" was just a funny, silly name I came up with. The original one had blaze orange G-10 handles, and because of the orange handles the name just sort of popped into my head. My thought was "How tactical can peeling an orange possibly be?" so it seemed funny to me. Prices on these knives vary. You can drop me an email to discuss, or take a look at my website for an idea. Thanks for your interest!
