I have a 2 pairs of 5.11 Taclite Pro and really like them...unfortunately the quality control for sizes is all over the map! For I have a pair that is 34x32 and one that is 34x30...they are the same length and the 30 is actually very baggy in the crotch. Even though they are a little all over the map they are super comfortable and very very functional! They are light and move well. Pockets are awesome. They are my favorite pants of all. My second favorite are the Duluth Trader Flex Fire Hose. They dont looks as nice after washing as the Taclite pros do but they are extremely comfortable and once again functional as all get out! Those are all the pairs I have I skipped the blackhawk for they were expensive and didnt look that much better. There are proppers, 24x7, tru-spec, and Vertx but unfortunately I have no place around that sells these brands.

I saw a pair of 5.11 tactical at salvation army the other day. They were too big for me but but bought them anyway. Only $5. Ended up giving them to my dad. Like you, I want them but nobody sells them and with sizes all over the place, who knows what fits? But pants makers... 34 inches is 34 inches! Doh!

I cannot do the hype of tactical
Sorry!

Walmart Dicky Cargo pants in ripstop cotton for $15, which are basic fatigee pants

Propper ripstop, synthetic materials dry faster plus they cost around 40% less than most clothing brands where I live.

I'm a fan of the 5.11 tacticals. Get them through work on uniform allowance. They're comfortable and durable. I have no complaints. And we have two places locally which sell them, so I can try them first to prevent any sizing discrepancies.

I like the LA Police Gear Operator Pants with elastic waist band. I also have the same style in shorts. Pockets are the right size and have a nice I-phone pocket in the front.

I have a pair of Taclite pants as well. Overall they are decent. I just got a pair of Force 10 cargo pants from TAD and the quality on them is absolutely amazing! All double and triple stitched, Ripstop fabric, tons of pockets, and made right here in the USA. I have a pair of their Amphibious cargo shorts on their way right now. If only the other models weren't out of stock, I'd probably have one of each.

They're not tactical unless they have built-in tourniquets.

Tru-Spec are nice, Wrangler cargo pants from Wal-Mart for cheap mode but they work. They all have a little more room than my cowboy cut Wranglers.

damn. I don't have any "tactical" pants at all! I have some old Woodland Camo USGI pants, a pair of Proppers in dessert camo, and some old JC Penny cargo pocket jeans. Guess I better get on the ball.

Surprisingly, those that I have are almost perfect woods britches.

I really like Vertx's line. They've got a zippered inner pocket on the front right hip, which is nice to hold any small items you might carry. Plus, each of the cargo side pockets has an inner divider, and none of the pockets have velcro, which I hate!

I have 2 pairs of the 5:11 tac lite's. they are comfortable, the pockets are not baggy, but they are accessable. the belt loops are big and there are several of them to support belt carry for a pistol, mags, knife, flashlight, or whatever. the material at the knees is doubled up so they dont wear as quickly, and the crotch is gussetted for more freedom of movement. they dont look like tactical pants at first glance which I like. I use them for hiking, backpacking, and working. Though they are both the same size 34"w x 34"l they are not both the same size. they are however close enough. Wish they were cheaper. $47 is a bit steep.

I have wanted to get some "technical" outdoor pants, but have never wanted to pony up for them. I wear surplus rip-stop %100 cotton BDU's (yes I bought them used!) or get cotton or blended Docker type pants from the bargain stores. I prefer cotton since I mainly hike in the desert, and I don't like polyester for my area.
