Well, as close as a SAK gets anyway.

New guy here so I thought I'd get a couple posts in. This is whats left of a one hand trekker after stripping all the tools off and rehandling in black canvas micarta. I got rid of the serrations and added a pocket clip for easy carry since the knife is fairly large for pocket carry.

very nice, sak should make something like it. no tools just a single blade. you do good work. later, ahgar

Sorry to be a downer... but what in blazes is the point of that?

I didn't think that the onehanded SAK had a particularly great blade... and just... why? More power to ya, but why?

I believe he did that at the request of the knifes owner, and yes he is a craftsman. Hacker... Hmm, lets see some of your work? Ever do anything just to be a little different? Some of us do. Doesn't mean it's wrong just different.

Remember, "We mock that which we don't understand."

Actually, no, "we commend that which we appreciate." Thus the "traditional sense" and "'Grats!"

Just did it to make you wonder Bob. Thanks for the compliment bro, you rock!

Valid question though.

It was done for a Victorinox dealer who wanted a thin one hand opener with a pocket clip that was a Vic. There are quite a few Victorinox fanatics and some like a little more tac in the SAK than the factory offers.

The blade on the OHT is actually pretty effective. No, its not supersteel, but the cutting edge is pretty surprising when you use one for a while. I used one all day thinning grape vines and it still cut well after almost an acre of thinning. Thats more than I can say for a lot of knives.

Anyway, here's a couple more. I hack some pens too.:D

Thanks guys.

Bill

How do you secure the pocket clip? The aluminum liners don't seem like they'd be strong enough to tap and hold screws for a clip. I've been tinkering with the idea of putting a clip on a Spartan or Soldier.

The screws for the clip are tapped through the micarta and liners. They seem to hold well, I haven't had one come out yet. I put a little blue threadlock on. We'll see after a while with a few out there getting tested.

Wheeeee, a tactical with a corkscrew, yes!

Ive always wanted a one handed SAK w/out the serrations. For some reason that is the only way(serrated) they make them? Now I have the motivation. Any tips on taking off the serrations?
