I've got a friend who bought 2 Archers the other day during their "drop". He wants to sell one. Is the market in a place where he can make $$ on this? I question his thoughts that there is a demand for these lesser known builders knives.
 
The market is hardly in a place to make money on anything now. It is a buyer's market for almost everything in the luxury hobby areas. Many are selling, money is tight, Christmas is coming, the free government cash has run out, the bill for it is due, and the economic headwinds are not favorable. Tactile is fairly well known. I wasn't aware of the Archer, but it looks like a nice knife. Your friend could probably flip as many of these as he could sell by buying them at $599 and selling them at $400 or so. I'm sure what he loses on a per-unit basis he could make up on volume of sales.

As the old line goes - if you want to make a small fortune making or selling knives, it's real easy. First, you start with a large fortune, then you start making or selling knives.
 
Not a big fan of people who grab up limited knives with the sole purpose of flipping them, wouldn't bother me to hear he lost $200 on each.

The market is as the market does. madcap_magician madcap_magician is pretty much spot on with his forecast, so anybody with the extra coin might be better off keeping it in extra coin form.

Some makes/models of knives get caught up in a fad of sorts and explode in value price, no rhyme or reason as to why. Many don't.

But flippers be flippers, so who am I to tell anybody how to make/not make money on their hobby? Seems he already bought, so he already rolled the dice.
