TAD edition?

I dont know if this is the right place, or if its been discussed before, but how does a knife get a "TAD edition"

Its usually a knife commissioned from knife makers by the guys at Triple Aught Design, and usually has their logo on it.

Pretty sure they do. One they put a TAD logo on the knife and three stripes. The price on that knife triples
