Does anybody have a TAD Explorer Shell - if so what do you think of it?

I too, am interested in what people will have to say about the Explorer shell. Personally, the price is a little steep for me for something of unknown manufacture; but then again, it's from TAD, and their reputation for kick-a$$ stuff is well known. Not to say I woudn't spend that much, either - I've spent more money on North Face, Patagonia, and Mountain Hardwear shells.

Regardless, I'll probably end up passing on the Explorer shell. I'm quite happy with my Alpha Industries MA-1 flight jacket for everyday wear. If I had an extra $250 to spend on a jacket, I'd probably go for an Al Mar Tac-Jac!!!

I was up there the day they came in, and helped them offload the truck.(Pat, y'all need more space in there!)

I got a black, size L. The jacket is lightweight, comfortable and roomy. The sleeve pocket is just the right size for a cellphone, minidisc player, radio, (couple of cigars and a lighter...;) )
etc. The velcro patches are a nice "customizable" touch. Looks like this jacket will wear like iron, now just gotta find all the right accessories to stock it with! (awww, darn...:D )

but I do have the Al Mar Tac Jacket. I've had it for years and its held up well. Lots of pockets. Great for travel as well.
