Back in 2011 Tad made me this beast of a Bowie, nearly a foot long blade with wrought iron fittings and some cracking stag:

It was the first knife that Tad had stamped with his JS stamp so I made a suggestion / struck a deal that I could get the first knife he would stamp as a MS.

Tad got his MS stamp last year at Blade and I was honoured to be there, it was long overdue.
Well, Tad obliged on our little deal and my remit for the knife was pretty simple. A bowie and no recurve (even though Tad does a mean recurve, they aren't for me!). Otherwise, he had free reign to do what he wanted.

Tad came up with this beauty, damascus bolster and frame bowie with stag scales. doomed pins, fileworked spaces and a coined damascus guard.

David Seward sheath, with shark skin top and tail, and snakeskin centre.

Coop did a great job with the photo

Absolutely gorgeous. A lot of very fine work involved in that beauty.
Congrats.

That's a stand up move on a couple of outstanding blades.
I know his books are closed at the moment but I've been itching to get my name in.

Congratulations on a fine set of Tad’s knives.

I’ve got a few and they are superb...

Congratulations to the maker and the collector....Beautiful work !

Gorgeous Bowie, and a nice pair with the extra meaning. If I had seen the new one without knowing the maker, I would have guessed J.R. Cook . . . and that is high praise, indeed!
