So after Tad made me a few knives and I got talking to the organist at church who also loves anything handmade and is a bit inclined towards a wannabe chef (despite being a music teacher).

He asked me would Tad maybe consider a kitchen knife so Tad and I talked and I drew up a rough sketch of the sort of style we were after. Something unctional and plenty of beef to it. Nine inch blade was really the only remit and Tad could work away and see what he thought.

So here she is. Curly Hawaiian mango handle, looks great so much chatoyance and has great different streaks of colour through it, black micarta spacer block and 9 inch damascus blade from the same billet as the Ard Rì fighter.

Enjoy...

Tad as always did a great job. This would do you in the woods never mind the kitchen!

The design roughed out:

Stunner. I am jealous.

Wow! That whole thing is beautiful. Quilted Mango, huh? Have to add that to my "if I ever" list.
The handle shape is brilliant. Perfect!

Thanks, all, for the comments.
The curly mango is beautiful wood. Mark, I wish I'd got more!
Thanks, Philip, for the pics.
