I just received my Tad Gear Raptor in the mail. So far it's working wonderfully and eVent really is insanely breathable--haven't had to use pitzips at all today. The construction is top notch and I'm glad I purchased this jacket on sale. So far it's living up to all of its hype.

I'll come up with a formal-ish review later, but if any of you have questions right now, go ahead and ask them!

No questions, but interested to see how you like the eVent fabric after using it awhile, and how it holds up.
I understand that eVent is like Gore-Tex in that it comes in various forms and number of layers, but don't know how to tell the difference between them,

My stuff has not been put to a real test of durability.
I've got an Integral Designs bivy in eVent, and so far it's been great, but I've only had it out a couple of times. Hot and humid the first time, rained off and on through the night the second-zero condensation. Water seems to magically disappear off it. It was still sprinkling when I rolled it up last week, and the whole bivy felt dry. So far, so good.
Also have their eVent Shortie gaiters, and have had them in deep snow, rain, and water. Obviously they didn't help in knee deep water, but they kept shallow running water out of my shoes while walking up series of waterfalls. Kept snow out of my shoes, and the bottom of my pants dry even when over waist deep, too.
Still a new fabric for me, but I'm liking it:thumbup:

I've been wearing the jacket all day in stuffy college classrooms and it really breathes! I'm astounded by the breathability, comfortable with two baselayers (Nike pro (nike dri-fit polyester material)) and a jacket on top of that.

I'm going to be using it daily here in PA fall weather, should get plenty of use--maybe even play some sports in it.

48+ views and nobody has a question. I had plenty of questions before I purchased my first expensive jacket, especially about TadGear...

Anyways.

Right now I have nothing bad to say about it, everything works as advertised. Terrific placement and design/construction of all pockets, eVent material just plain works--haven't needed to use pitzips, and I just left it on during class time today. I'm 5'11" 200#, active-build, size 44chest IIRC, wearing 32X32 Tru-Spec 24/7 tac-pants, purchased a Large Black. Hood adjustments are terrific--I had my buddies dump 2-liter bottles full of water on me so that they could see that they would get wet and that I wouldn't. We'll see how the DWR holds up on the shoulders, but I have Grangers XT proofer in case it needs a touchup.

There's my "first-day" review.

I'm mixed on the pit zips- sometimes they can rub and cause bad rash-though if they're done right, they're real handy. I'll be placing an order for the Special Service Sweater within the next week. They have some real nice stuff.

No rubbing whatsoever here, though I've only used it for today. It seems to fit me to a 'T'

Let us know how you like the SSS! Looks like a terrific garment.
