Taiwan blade stamps?

Why are the blade stamps different on my Sage 2 and 3?
my Sage 2 only says Taiwan and on the opposite side Spyderco Cpm-s30v centered like the Golden models. My Sage 3 says Taichung Taiwan and Spyderco Cpm-s30v but both are marked off to one side of the blade not centered. Anyone know the reasoning for this?
Could the Sage 2 be older or a copy?

I wouldn't be too worried. I only have four of my Taichungs at hand, and here's what their stamps look like:

My new Chokwe was apparently an "older" model and is only marked "Taiwan".

As I understand it, with all the praise the Taichung plant gets, they asked if "Taichung Taiwan" could be put on their products from then on, to differentiate them from the Taipei Spydies.

The new Reverse and Ronin fixed blades are marked Taipei Taiwan.

Am I right, and what do I win?

Your Sage 2 is older, as are my Sage 1 and Sage 2. All the Sages have been made by the same maker but the Taichung marking was not always used.

Yeah I thought there was a little mishap with quality of some of the CF Cats/Chicagos and others that were produced in Taipei, and assuming Taichung wanted to separate themselves from that rash of problems. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw, Cryo, you gotta work on your photo skills, lol. If that was with a smartphone camera just tap on the screen where you want it to focus...

I was not aware of that but will try next time. Thanks for the tip
