Just filling some holes in my Cold Steel collection . Getting near done ...maybe ? ;)

~$106 + tax delivered . Great deal . CPM-3V . Brand new, from reliable non-sponsor dealer .

Might have rather had an earlier version , but I'm not paying the difference to buy one "vintage' priced .

The way the spine is swedged on the Taiwan version looks less useful for some purposes .

Probably not a big deal for me at this point .

I agree I feel the spine and swedge in the AK-47 is not that useful. I have the full size SRK 3V and that is my standard on how the spine and swedge should be.

I was actually looking around for some info on 3V corrosion resistance and chanced upon your post. My 3v AK-47 developed rust around the tip. I now remember I stabbed it into treated wood, and must not have cleaned it before it was stored in a dry drawer, not sheathed. Some chemical in the wood treatment perhaps?

What I love about the AK-47 is the protruding full tang. Something the SRK does not have.

I have mixed feelings with the handle. I like the solid feel but looks like designed for forward grip only.

3V is not technically stainless , but is somewhat rust resistant . IIRC .

designed for forward grip only.
I can use it in reverse grip , but not in any grip with palm against the bottom (finger grooved area ) of the handle . If that makes sense ? :)

I like the knife overall , but not the greatest for every purpose .

Handle does fit my hands very well, for a secure grip .
