I have two rostfrei currently with me:

a silver wave with marking 420 over ROSTFREI
a camouflage marked FES over ROSTFREI

I used to have two faced handle rostfrei. at one side it was dragon but the other side it was checkered.

Are these the same as the current Taiwan Rostfrei available in the market?
Are these knives' blade as good as Jaguar? Thickness of blade?

Can't compare whats currently out there with what is now out there, as I won't buy anything less than a Jag. But I can tell you this, I always look (but have never bought) at all the Bali Songs every were I find one, and I have never seen any thing even close to the thickness of a Jag. Bears are next, they are pretty thick, but still not as thick as a Jag.

To got one like you discribe is about $10 - $12, and I can get a Jag for $16 - $18.

Harv,

thanks! When is your essay coming? I can't wait!

You see, on some internet knife shop, they put .125" as blade thickness of the Rostfrei, same as Jag. I doubt it .. which is why I asked.

How about the weight and feel of a Jag compared to the original PC/BM they copied from (I mean same model of course)?

I measured the PC Interational I have, it is about 3/16" thickness, while the Rostfrei is actually only 1/10"

Chris, even though I don't really like the cheaper BM's, they still felt a lot more solid than the jags I've used.
