After watching the cutting competition at the last hammer in, in Old Washington Ar, I decided to finish out a big bowie that I had forged.It is forged from L-6, amd measures 9 1/4" long 1 3/4" wide and is 1/4" thick. The guard is 416 stainless as is the pommel and finial.The handle is Bubinga and measures 4 3/4" long.

The balance point is 1 inch in front of the guard giving the knife just enough blade forward feel to snap into a cut. I cleaved a 2X4 in twain with 8 blows. I also cut several sapplings 1-2 inches thick with 1 cut.

In short, this is a tree eatin, 2X4 cleaving, soda can killin, lay a path of destruction in your wake , kinda knife.

Let me know what you think.:p

What do I think? What's not to love about a big honkin' butt-kickin' bowie that's beautiful as well? Great knife Bailey!

Thanks for the compliments. I forgot to mention that this model has a scotchbrite finish. I want the knife to be more affordable, and useable. Also, the handle has an octagonal cross section. I really enjoy the feel of this shape. I choped a lot with this knife, and never once lost my grip or iritated my hand. I can see why Robin Hudson likes to make his handle in this fasion.

I am keeping this one, but as you can guess, I will make more like it if anyone is so inclined.

Guys,
This is a great pattern and a great deal for a takedown Bowie.
I just email chatted with BB and he gave me the particulars....this is a great knife, from an exceptional maker at a great price.
I imagine we will be seeing more of Mr. B at cutting competitions in the future!

Very nice Bailey, as always! My only point would be the upper guard, but that's personal preference of course.
I also love how the octagonal handles feel and work and Rob does an excellent job, here's a shot of one of his handles;

I would like to see it delivered to 34 Bedford Drive. :)

I'll show you all those different angles with the bowie in MY hand, from my living room! :)

Here are a couple of pics. Better light and one of the handle from the rear.

Now that we all know where Danbo lives, we won't have to worry so much that he may be close enough for a drop in visit:p

Wow. Simply a masterpiece. I love the handle, blade shape, everything. Heck, I cannot even give good grammar seeing this one with. ;)

Bailey, that knife is a beauty. I love the handle and guard. Kick ass plunge lines too. But 8 chops? You must be getting old :p :)
