After watching the cutting competition at the last hammer in, in Old Washington Ar, I decided to finish out a big bowie that I had forged. It is forged from L-6, amd measures 9 1/4" long 1 3/4" wide and is 1/4" thick. The guard is 416 stainless as is the pommel and finial. The handle is Bubinga and measures 4 3/4" long.
The balance point is 1 inch in front of the guard giving the knife just enough blade forward feel to snap into a cut. I cleaved a 2X4 in twain with 8 blows. I also cut several sapplings 1-2 inches thick with 1 cut.
In short, this is a tree eatin, 2X4 cleaving, soda can killin, lay a path of destruction in your wake , kinda knife.
Let me know what you think.
