this project started 3 weeks ago when a TAK-1 arrived on my doorstep. excited like the kid i am, i ripped open the box pulled out the knife and fell in love. but every relationship comes with a few thorns...=(
in this case: the sheath...it just looks wonky IMO
so the only optoin was to search around and find what i could do.
Thanks go to everyone who has EVER written about kydex in these forums. the info was invaluable.
right now i have the press made (simple wood/foam dealio) and i'll be pressing my first sheath tonite hopefully.
here are some pics of the process to illustrate some of the points brought up in the forums before:
Materials used:
1 piece of Pine shelfing cut into 3 (i used 2 pieces): $0.99
1 closed cell foam sleeping mat: $9.99 from canadian tire
2 4inch hinges: 1.99 x 2 = $4
1can leather/wood glue: (got it from mexico and don't remeber the price)
so much for trying pics..here goes THIRD time to get them rite...
