Are there any worthy kits out there with lubricant and wipes? Or should I just save my money and use hot water and a little bit of detergent. This is for an emerson cqc 12. Should I take it apart every time I clean? Or should I use canned air and try to get the lint out and take it apart once in a while? Thanks.

I wouldn't. My experience has been the more you take things apart the looser they get in the long run. I too have the need to tinker and take things apart but I stick with pipe cleaners (Real ones not the craft center ones) and kroil to clean my folders. I'd only take them apart if they have something in there that was interfering with their action. Otherwise I'd just stick to regular preventative care.

on my '12 i use a small drop of dishwahing detergent on a toothbrush and some hot water and scrub away, then dry it well(compressed air works great for this if ya have some FWIW), lube the pivot with tuffglide, apply some tuffglide to the blade too, and thats about it.

no reason to dissassemble it imho though i suppose ya could if ya wanted too, but its just extra work.

I agree with SIFU. And if you don't live in a really humid environment, you really don't have to worry that much about drying it. Yeah sure, using a hairdryer on LOW to blow into the handle a little bit (don't melt the handle, and the blade shouldn't be more than warm) helps, but most folders are made from stainless steel and they tolerate water better than sometimes they are given credit for.
