take down a thread you started

How do I take down a thread I made

You can't but if you click the symbol that looks like a triangle with a ! it will report the thread

And what will that do?

A dialog box will open where you ask a moderator to remove the thread.
Using this format will take us right to the thread so we don't have to hunt for it.
