This is my last one for the year. A take-down bowie with some really cool (I think so anyway :) ) amboyna burl. This one I will probably take to a show in a few weeks.

Specs:
Forged from 1075 steel, clay quenched
13 1/4" overall, 8 1/2" blade, .220 thick at the ricasso
Guard, spacers and collars are carbon fiber
Handle is stabilized amboyna burl
Blued steel finial nut

All comments and discussion welcome.

That burl is very nice. Interesting choice of gaurd and spacers. Goes perfectly with the burl and blade.

Looks very nice. Unfortunately, you left the handle out of the fridge for too long, and it went moldy........Just cut that part off and eat the rest.........

Just kidding!

You make the most beautiful knives. Every time I see one, I can't help but wish for it. They are simply amazing. Great work!

Man, that amboyna is out of this world! I love that deep red to grey transition I've never seen any like that. That guard is freakin' awesome, I love how it pulls all the black from the ambonya together. seriously, after looking at the bowie threads in the custom and handmade section - this is one of my favorite bowies of the year! I can't describe how much I like this knife!

Wow...that handle, I'm speechless! This is the first time I've been driven to say anything on this forum, but that amboyna is just beautiful. I'm torn right now between awe and jealousy. fantastic job man.

That is fantastic John. Really outside the box. And a custom puller (At least that's what I just named it) to match. Flawless man! These guys are right. Very difficult to find the descriptive words on the excellence in this knife. Happy new year!

Love it!!!!!! I love how the handle looks like it is basically on fire with the lower portion ashed over. This thing is all kinds of awesome.

Thank you all for the kind words and taking time to post. I really appreciate the comments.

Whats not to like on that one? The burl is unsual and spectacular but the carbon fibre fittings are what stand out the most to me. Or maybe not "stand out" since they match the rest of the knife so nicely.

Anyways, great work. Thanks for sharing.

I do like a nice clean take down! I think you got this one just right. The words 'good work' seem to fall short!
