my first attempt at this style of weapon. 8 1/2" 1095 blade, nickel tsuba, copper habaki and koiguchi, brass seppa, cocobolo kurikata. the copper patina is from hard boiled eggs (sulphur). gave it a nice plum color. the wood is poplar. i will attempt another someday, and try making a fuchi as well. thanks for looking.

Outstanding work!
I like the spine.
Have you thought about blending in the secondary edge?

i appreciate the responses. yes lycosa, i will probably try a zero edge next time and a few other things to make it more authentic looking.
