Here is the second part of my summer works, a small collaboration with Petr Hofman from Czech Republic, also known here as Hferrum.
I didn't do much this summer but spent a lot of time improving my carving skills and looking for new designs. With a lot of trial and error involved. It felt great to work with such exquisite blades.
174 & 175 are insect themed. Petr is passionate about the microcosmos, he raises mantis, so I thought it would be a nice idea to make handles that look like insects.
The blades of these two are in Bohler 690, both 80 mm long and with a hardness estimate by Petr of 58-59 HRC.
On 176 and 177, I wanted to try something else so I carved them as if they were some bundles of branches held together by strings.
Both blades are in RWL 34, number 176 is 90 mm long, number 177 is 75 mm. The last one is also acid etched. Estimated hardness: 60-61 HRC.
Handles are as usual made out of Chinese bamboo root or Wanggi.
I hope you like them.

Thanks for your interest
