Hello the world :)
Here are some knives I’ve made this summer.
This is a small collaboration with my friend Jean Jacques Schitz.
J.J. is not only a gifted knife maker but also an expert collector of Indonesian knives and a great lover of the Island of Bali.
So naturally he made me some blades inspired by a Balinese ceremonial knife called the Upacara. They are all three 80mm long and made out of a sanmai combining XC10 & XC100 steel.
I myself took inspiration from Balinese designs to carve the handles out of bamboo root. I hope I managed to catch a little of the exotic spirit of this tropical part of Asia about which J.J. talks so well.

More to come.
Thanks for watching :D

Wonderful, i saw logo there on the blades. Two krises and a lizard.
A very nice logo. Does it have a meaning?
Bit interesting on "upacara" as a name of a knife using for a ceremonial since upacara itself has meaning ceremonial.

Stunning work

.. he made me some blades inspired by a Balinese ceremonial knife called the Upacara ..
"Upacara" should be pronounced as "oo + par + char + ra" and the last vowel "a" in "ra" should be pronounced as in "ma", "pa", "spa" or "bra".
It's easier to hear it from HERE.
Hope this helps a teeny weeny bit .. :o

Thanks for the comments.
I am not a specialist on Indonesian knives so I don't know much about Upacara knives besides what J.J. told me about.
The markings on the blades are J.J.'s logo : The 2 kriss knives stand for the two J , and the gecko for "S" as in his last name Schitz.

I like the nateral looks of the handles, as if they were creatures or animals
