So this past Sunday I had to go down to the office to do some work. Normally if I bring any knife with me its a little folder, usually a BM530. But since no one was going to be there I brought the FFBM to give her a tour of the office. I must say having her around me while riding up and down in the elevator did afford a certain comfort knowing that if I got stuck in that car and my distress calls went unheeded (which actually happens in NYC quite regularly), at least with an FFBM I'd be able to either pry or chop my way out.

It was also somewhat amusing to walk around the hallways and do things like make coffee in the break room while carrying around an unsheathed behemoth knife. She did an excellent job though of guarding against any faxable-Zombie attacks and at one point her sheer presence alone was enough to intimidate an uncooperative router into behaving. But after a couple of hours the urge to chop just became overwhelming and I had to find a sturdy cardboard box to demolish.

On the whole I think it was a good experience for both her and me and I highly recommend that you try to give your large choppers as broad a range of experience as possible and let them decide what environment they like best. :D

Imagine if there was a hidden camera (you know the ones they use to catch office workers having sex) capturing your violent box deanimation!

I was wondering what the Monday morning crew must have been thinking when they saw that box...

I wonder what the Monday morning crew would've thought if you had to hack your way out of the elevator!!!

I bet if you were non-chalant about it, you could bring that FFBM to work during the week. Tell people its for opening mail and removing staples -- or in extreme cases, for "fixing" a jammed copier...

Strange coincidence ...

I took my Active Duty into work today. One of the guys I work with is trying to decide what to buy for his first good knife. (Poor bugger doesn't know what he's in for).

I showed him a couple of things on the web then got my Bark River Snowy River out of the bag as a sort of intro to good quality knives and after he had a look at that I got the AD out. THAT impressed him. It also impressed a couple of other guys standing around. There is no way he can afford one now, but the seed is planted ..... :)

for me, every day is take any knife to work day. hard to get work done when you're goofing around with an ASH-1 though.

That sounds to me like a "Scare the office girls with your big... knife" day! :D

Every day is "take a Busse to work" day for me! Today I have a Cultellus, Meaner, Scotch Dispenser, and Batacle in the office.

And what's that at the door? Why it's the postman, dropping off a FBMLE and an ASH-1 LE. Today is a great day!

I think it is time for Busse to offer a nice gentlemens folder that is just under three inches. That would be perfect. That way we can always have INFI with us no matter wear we go.

Except for airplanes, government buildings, etc., etc.,

I think we should start a petition for the almost three inch Busse folder. And then name it "Better than..." Jerry Busse would have to meet the demands of the masses.
