Hi folks.

I need a break. Good news= we have a contract on our house in NC, and Tim is doing well.

I am also very busy, and though I enjoy the time spent here, I need to give even that little bit of time to other things right now. Don't feel bad! I took a leave of absence from the Swiss Rifles forum months ago.

However, I have begun feeling a bit uneasy here lately also. I am feeling more out of place here than I used to, and maybe a break will help me regain a proper perspective. Being a people pleaser in long term recovery, the village heretic is not a role I play with ease and comfort.

My love of Khukuris will not let me stay away too long. I do hope to re handle and engrave some sometime soon, and hope to participate in the future more on that basis, (I haven't bought a khukuri in more than 1 year, I think!) along with a good gun thread or two!

Thanks for putting up with me, and for all the prayers and good wishes.

I'll check in and look things over. Maybe you could start a thread with an over/under on how many days 'till I post again! Knowing me, I might take the under... You could even try tempting me with various topics, just to see if I crack!

OTOH, that might assume that I am that important, vs. tolerated. (yeah yeah, the sensitive arteest...:barf: :foot: )

No one has offended me, I'm just sad that I find myself in such a minority on some things that are so important to me. I am glad for the things I have in common with you all though. I guess sad is the best way to describe my feelings about all this.

There's some heavy-handedness that's rubbing me the wrong way. Don't know if that's what you're referring to. Doesn't matter, either.

Wishing you all the best. Put a couple of rounds through the bore for me. A couple for Steve, too. At least as good as smoke.

Tom take good care of yourself and hurry back.:thumbup: You are indeed an important member here and one of the most respectable and thoughtful when you write a post.
You will be missed by all of us but I also know how you feel about needing a break, methinks everyone needs one now and then to recharge the old batteries so to speak.
Just don't stay away too long, okay? :(
 
Tom, you will be missed. I appreciate all your correspondences. I'll be checking for your updates, and my prayers will continue for Tim. Be well bro.
